CME Group is an American global markets company. It is the world's largest financial derivatives exchange, and it trades in asset classes that include agricultural products, currencies, energy, interest rates, metals, and stock indexes. CME Group is important because it operates many key energy futures markets in the U.S. including Henry Hub natural gas (also known as NYMEX natural gas), WTI Houston crude, and RBOB gasoline.
CME Group also offers financial and physical natural gas trading products at the U.K. National Balancing Point (NBP) and the Dutch TTF (Title Transfer Facility) and financial products for the Japan Korea Marker index, which tracks LNG prices in Asia. CME also offers exchange-based trading of natural gas and power at multiple points across North America, Europe, and Japan.
